Our Approach

Portfolio Development & Continuous Management

Drawing upon your financial roadmap, objectives, risk tolerance, and financial profile, G&R Financial Solutions deploys an open architecture approach — meaning we're not limited to proprietary products and can access the full universe of investment solutions to build what's genuinely right for you.

  • 01 Devise a bespoke and diversified portfolio, integrating a balanced combination of financial strategies and investment managers suited to your specific goals and risk tolerance.
  • 02 Investigate a broad spectrum of investment approaches, such as tax-loss harvesting via separately managed accounts, to improve after-tax returns without altering your risk profile.
  • 03 Oversee your portfolio continuously, adjusting it in line with market fluctuations and evolving risk tolerances so your allocation never drifts far from its intended target.
  • 04 Regularly assess and rebalance your portfolio in response to changing life goals, income, time horizon, and tax situation — keeping your strategy aligned with where you're headed.
Portfolio Design

Investment Strategies for Every Goal

We provide professionally managed portfolios aimed at achieving distinct investment objectives — whether that's regular and reliable income, broad diversification, tax efficiency, or growth. A G&R investment specialist will collaborate with you to evaluate your financial needs and build a portfolio that fits.

Professional wealth management frees you from time-demanding duties like watching the markets or rebalancing your portfolio, letting you concentrate on what's really important — living life on your own terms, spending time with the people who matter, and pursuing what you love.

Equity Investments

Used to align your portfolio with long-term growth goals and risk tolerance, with exposure to individual companies, sectors, or broad market indices.

Diversified Investments

Mitigating risk by purchasing a wide range of assets across geographies, sectors, and asset classes — reducing the impact of any single position on your overall portfolio.

Fixed Income Investments

Designed to generate a dependable income stream through bonds and annuities — providing stability, capital preservation, and predictable cash flow.

Direct Investing

Indexing tailored to your specific financial situation, with systematic tax-loss harvesting — selling underperforming assets to offset gains and reduce your overall tax liability.

Portfolio Risk Analysis

Calculate Your Portfolio Risk

Understanding how your portfolio might perform under different market conditions is fundamental to confident investing. With Riskalyze, knowing is instant — your portfolio can be stress tested across a wide variety of real-world financial scenarios.

"How would my portfolio perform if ________ happened?"
A market correction? Rising interest rates? A recession? Riskalyze lets you model it instantly — so you understand your actual risk exposure before it matters.

Stress testing your portfolio gives you a deeper understanding of the effects of various market environments and helps ensure your allocation truly matches your risk tolerance — not just your self-assessment of it. Many investors discover they're taking on more risk than they realize.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about portfolio design, investment management, and working with G&R.

An open architecture approach means we're not limited to a proprietary set of investment products. We can access the full market — thousands of mutual funds, ETFs, separately managed accounts, alternative investments, and more — and select only what genuinely fits your situation. Many advisors are constrained to their firm's own products or a preferred list, which may not include the best options for you.

This matters because the best solution for your goals may not be the most profitable one for an advisor selling proprietary products. Open architecture aligns our incentives with yours: we select based on fit, cost-efficiency, tax implications, and performance characteristics — not shelf space.

Tax-loss harvesting involves selling securities that have declined in value to realize a capital loss, which can be used to offset capital gains elsewhere in your portfolio — reducing your tax bill. The sold position is typically replaced with a similar (but not identical) investment to maintain your target allocation and market exposure.

Separately managed accounts (SMAs) are particularly effective for this because you own individual securities rather than fund shares, enabling harvesting at the individual security level. Research from Parametric and others suggests tax-alpha of 1–1.5% annually for taxable accounts — which compounds significantly over time. Tax-loss harvesting is most beneficial in taxable accounts for investors in higher tax brackets with concentrated gains.

Your portfolio is monitored continuously, with formal reviews conducted at least annually and whenever significant life changes occur — a job change, inheritance, approaching retirement, major expense, or meaningful shift in your risk tolerance. Rebalancing is triggered when allocations drift meaningfully beyond their target ranges, not on a rigid calendar schedule.

Life changes often drive more portfolio adjustments than market changes. Getting married, having children, changing careers, or approaching retirement all affect your time horizon, income needs, and risk capacity — all of which should be reflected in your portfolio. G&R treats portfolio management as a living process, not a set-it-and-forget-it exercise.

A portfolio built for your life, not the market.

Let's design an investment strategy that reflects your goals, your risk tolerance, and your timeline — then manage it with the discipline it deserves.
